Holdem, luck is not every thing. It is a mind game.
Any two cards can win a pot for you. Playing every hand may
result in more winning mean while it will increase your loss
counts. To be a long term winner you should learn and master
the game Strategy
If you are a beginner you need to understand some very basic
concepts. When your become well versed with the knowledge
of rule and rounds of Holdem, You need to know these concepts
in order to develop strategy.
Seat Position and Timing :- Timing
is everything in some cases, and in poker it certain counts
for something. While some cards are playable under some circumstances
but may not be in other. Seat position is a key part of the
circumstances that dictate whether you should play a hand,
or wait for a better opportunity to present itself.
Reading Boards and Cards :-Experience poker
players can guess what their opponents have in their hands.
As a biginner you may not be able to read your opponents with
that level of skill, but if you can take a moment to read
the cards on the board, you can tell with certainty what they
do not have. Reading the board lets you know what hands are
possible, and from there you can use other information from
your opponents to know what hands may be possible and act/react
accordingly.
Odds :- Often you will find yourself in need
of a card to complete their hand. These hands are known as
drawing hands. When on a drawing hand, it's nice to know what
the odds of your ship actually coming in are. Armed with those
odds, you're better able to play your hand correctly. Drawing

completing your gunshot straight, flush, or three-of-a-kind.
Information is power at the table, and this information is
part of the basic skills that winning poker players possess.

Your Risk Tolerance :- Depending
on your playing style, you may want to play more or less aggressively
pre-flop. Players who shoot for larger pots, but don't mind
a greater chance for losing a few hands will want to raise
pre-flop, especially if they are in late position. Some players
prefer to be as selective as possible pre-flop, grinding out
a winning hand here or there. It really depends on your own
style of play, and how you perceive the players around you.
Bluff :- Poker is the game of
Money. So Deception can win a pot for you. Bluff is to deceive
the other players to think you have a better hand when you
actually do not. When they believe, you have better hand,
they fold and you win the pot. Bluffing may be a very good
idea under some circumstance. But it may cause huge loss.
But it can be used as weapon. You should know when to bluff
and when not to. |
